Lighting

Use adequate and even lighting both on the subject and in the background.  Be conscious of the position of the sun and don’t position your subject in front of a bright window.

Keep it steady.

Avoid recreating the Blair Witch Project by keeping your phone steady.  Consider a tripod or stabilizer and avoid making your audience nauseated or angry.

Be mindful of the audio.

Use landscape mode

Use landscape orientation and not portrait orientation while recording video (or taking photos). Landscape mode is far more aesthetically pleasing and looks way better when viewing on monitors, screens or tablets.
